Jayden looked up from her spot as she waved at Augustine, though she looked at Jacob. “Still no change.” She whispered. “I’ve been talking to him but..Nothing..”
“Well, I heard somewhere that if you’re in a coma you can hear people still,” she sat at the side of Jacob’s bed, taking his hand. “Maybe we should just tell him to stop being an idiot and wake up.” She tried, but seeing him was hard, she squeezed his hand as she placed a kiss to his cheek.
“I tried that.” She chuckled, though then she sighed. “I even tried telling him about the stupid things he’s done in hopes he’d shoot up and tell me to be quiet. But..”

“Yeah, that’s going to be a real kicker, isn’t it?” He’ll start the car and head down to the hospital with her. Though he’ll be hesitant to see Jacob himself.
“Yep. I’m a bartender! Who can’t drink!” She gave a short laugh but it didn’t have the usual kick behind it, approaching the hospital made her quieter.
“All your woes, right?” He chuckled as they made it there but he stayed in the car for a moment. “I’ll be out here for a bit..I’ll meet you inside.”
“But those are the most fun things to do.” he laughed a little, walking with her to his car. Maybe God would have answers, maybe even Lucy. He hadn’t told Augustine of Lucy, he wasn’t sure if he should.
“Yeah, but not for me! I have to go through nine months without alcohol, erg,” she shook her head. “I’m going to miss that perk.”
“Yeah, that’s going to be a real kicker, isn’t it?” He’ll start the car and head down to the hospital with her. Though he’ll be hesitant to see Jacob himself.
“What are friends for, right?” He smiled at her, though it was a sad smile.
“Making sure you don’t get wasted in public,” she smiled back, nodding.
“But those are the most fun things to do.” he laughed a little, walking with her to his car. Maybe God would have answers, maybe even Lucy. He hadn’t told Augustine of Lucy, he wasn’t sure if he should.
He tried to tell her that he was there, but it was no good. There was no one there. He would follow them, however.
Sighing a bit, Greg nodded. “Let’s head that way.” He held out his arm to her.
She took his arm awkwardly, letting go to lock the door. She didn’t take it again, not wanting to look weak. “Thank you Greg,” she looked away from him with a sigh. “For being here. Thank you.”
“What are friends for, right?” He smiled at her, though it was a sad smile.
“Then we’ll talk to her about it.” He nodded slowly. “She might have the answers.” And Jacob was behind him and sighed while mimicking everything Greg was saying, though watching Augustine hurting as she was he moved to her, his arms moving around her.
Greg just stood there. “Should we go to the hospital?”
“If she doesn’t, then I get to punch her in the face,” she couldn’t fee his arms around her, couldn’t tell that he was there as she shifted in her spot with a sigh. “Yeah, it would be good to see him…”
He tried to tell her that he was there, but it was no good. There was no one there. He would follow them, however.
Sighing a bit, Greg nodded. “Let’s head that way.” He held out his arm to her.
“We…Could talk to God?” He knew that sounded insane but they knew God was real, they both talked to her. “He has to be somewhere, right? She’d know, wouldn’t she?”
What they didn’t know is he was standing right there in the room with them, but neither could hear him. Right now he was mocking Greg.
“Talk to God?” She pursed her lips with a sigh. “Right now, I very much want to punch God in the face, but if She could bring him back,” she closed her eyes. “I’d like that very much.”
“That’s easier said than done, isn’t it?” He sighed as he would look at her. “I’m really sorry this happened…”
“Sorry isn’t going to change anything,” she sighed, shaking her head. “All I want now is that this kid I’m carrying is healthy and safe and the possibility of Jacob,” she winced at his name, “waking up.”
“I can’t say I blame her.” He frowned as he looked back at her. “I’ll go as far as taking you there. But I don’t need her punching me. Her brother doing it once was enough..”
“Yeah, you don’t seem to have a lot of luck, first me, then him,” she shook her head. “You should just stay away from us when we’re in bad moods.”
“That’s easier said than done, isn’t it?” He sighed as he would look at her. “I’m really sorry this happened…”
“She blames me, doesn’t she?” Which was fine, he blamed himself too.
“She’s… not exactly happy with the police force currently,” she sighed. “If she’s in a… worse mood, then maybe I’ll just have you walk me to his room for now.”
“I can’t say I blame her.” He frowned as he looked back at her. “I’ll go as far as taking you there. But I don’t need her punching me. Her brother doing it once was enough..”
